Clock and Watchmakers' Manual
Quite heavy going but interesting for at least two things: it was written by a woman, Mary, and there’s an appendix which contains an overview of the (then) current state of the US watch market where the American Watch Company had only recently been established and much was expected of its new manufacturing processes. (The American Watch Company became Waltham).
M. L. Booth was a ‘Mary’.
